Private beta draft — effective for invite-only testing
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Tahona handles personal and portfolio-related information during the invite-only private beta. It is a product draft for beta participants and will be reviewed by counsel before broader or paid launch.
1. Who we are
Tahona (“we”) provides financial intelligence tools for rental property owners. This policy covers the private beta web application and related invite/admin tooling.
2. Information we collect
Account information: email address and authentication credentials managed by our identity provider.
Portfolio information you enter: property details, transactions, liabilities, reserves, recurring expenses, units, and document metadata.
Documents and images you upload (for example receipts and PDFs), stored in private object storage.
Technical data needed to run the service: session cookies, approximate device/browser information, and basic security logs.
We do not intentionally collect full payment card numbers. Paid billing is not part of the free private beta.
3. How we use information
Provide and secure your account and portfolio workspace.
Calculate portfolio health and generate explainable educational insights from data you enter.
Operate invite-only access and basic administration for the private beta.
Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.
4. How we share information
We use infrastructure processors (for example hosting, database, authentication, and object storage) to run the product. They process data on our instructions.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users, the service, or rights against abuse or security threats.
5. Storage and security
Portfolio and document data are protected with authentication and authorization controls, including database row-level security where applicable.
Document originals live in private storage; downloads use short-lived access links.
No security practice is perfect. Protect your password and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain beta account and portfolio data while your account is active and as needed for security and legitimate operations.
You may request deletion of your account and associated customer data through the support channel provided for beta testers. Some backup or legal retention copies may persist for a limited period.
Deleted documents are removed from primary storage promptly; backup removal follows retention procedures.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies necessary for signed-in sessions.
Product analytics, if enabled during beta, are filtered to avoid raw document contents, credentials, full account numbers, and unnecessary exact financial values.
8. Children’s privacy
Tahona is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy for the beta. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective label.
Privacy questions: use the support channel provided by your invite host, or contact the address published on tahona.io when available.
